Habitat Restoration and Monitoring
Following the Environmental Survey to produce an accurate
baseline for the Environmental Assessment, development proposals
may impact on the environment with the result that habitat reinstatement
or restoration is necessary.
Ecologically important habitat will be identifed,
and although its loss should be avoided where possible, sometimes
is is unavoidable. In these situations vegetation and fauna can
be moved.
Following development, some areas can be reinstated
using previously removed and stored vegetation, other areas cannot
be reinstated, and important flora and fauna may be relocated to
a different area.
